Masturbating with partners

While masturbation is commonly thought of as a solo activity, it can also be great to do with consenting partners. This is known as mutual masturbation.

There are two forms of mutual masturbation:

  1. People masturbate themselves in the presence of their partner/s
  2. Partners masturbate each other at the same time

Mutual masturbation can provide an opportunity to intimately connect with your partner at a relaxed pace, reducing pressure to do things that are more intense. It offers a safe environment to explore your own personal preferences as well as what brings pleasure to your partner.

Safety check!

Mutual masturbation can involve skin-to-skin contact and/or the exchange of bodily fluids, which means there is a risk of passing on, or getting a STI. Talk with your partner/s about how you will manage safer sex practices.
