Who are you on social media?

Take a minute to think about how YOU present yourself online.

  • How do you curate your life on social media?
  • Why might you be doing this?
  • Who are you doing this for?

Many of us feel pressure to edit ourselves and our lives so that we can present in certain ways online. We do this to fit in and be accepted by others. While this may benefit us from time to time, it can often lead to us feeling anxious and stressed as we try to maintain our image and live up to the expectations of others.

The truth is, you don’t need to post certain things or edit your photos in certain ways to be liked. Nobody should feel as though they have to strive for the validation of others.

Try instead to post things on social media for your own fulfilment and memories. Your socials can become digital time capsules that reflect all the great things that have happened in your life!

Challenge yourself!
1) Scroll through your socials and be really honest with yourself - is the content you’ve posted there because you wanted to post it, or because you were doing it for other people?

2) Next time you go to post something to your socials, ask yourself why you are posting it. If it is to get likes and comments from others, then maybe hold back and think twice. Try to only post things YOU really want to post.
